HONG Kong real estate and resort developer Golden Horse Holdings has forked out at least $15 million to acquire a Noosa golf course and residential subdivision in a further sign of Asian investor confidence in Queensland.

Golden Horse has bought the Noosa Springs 18-hole championship golf course, clubhouse and associated businesses as well as 23 vacant lots in the development’s gated residential subdivision.

The properties form part of the 103ha Noosa Springs golf course and masterplanned residential community which has been developed by Noosa’s Starkey family since 1997. “Golden Horse is seeking to expand its resort developments internationally and has made investments in Singapore, Japan, Thailand and now Australia,” according to Noosa Springs vendor Phil Starkey in a letter to Noosa Springs residents obtained by The Australian.
